Steven M. Miller: Between Noise & Silence

We are proud and honored to announce the release of Between Noise & Silence, a retrospective of the work of electro-acoustic composer Steven M. Miller, a dear friend and colleague who passed away in October 2014 after being diagnosed with ALS a little over a year before. The 8-disc box set features six CDs devoted to Miller’s own music, both solo and with various collaborators, as well as a DVD of his collaborations with experimental video maker Michael J. Saul. A seventh CD features music made in tribute to Steven by his friends and colleagues: Annea Lockwood, David Dunn, Steve Peters, Gregory Taylor, Dino JA Deane, Chris Brown, Pauline Oliveros, David Mahler, and Maggi Payne. The 40-page booklet features Miller’s photographs and writings, along with essays by David Mahler, Larry Polansky, and others. The project was produced by Nonseq director Steve Peters, with audio mastering by David Dunn and Rick Fisher, and graphic design by Michael Sumner/Burning Books. It is available in physical form and as digital download (minus the videos) from Innova Records. You can also get a free copy by donating $30 or more to the Steven M. Miller Scholarship for Music Composition and Sound Design at the Santa Fe University of Art & Design.
