The longest running festival of its kind in North America, SIMF is an annual meeting place for improvisers at the forefront of Improvised Music in North America, as well as visiting improvisers from around the world.

This year’s festival features representatives of Improvised Music communities in Boston, Los Angeles, Portland, NYC, Oakland, Vancouver BC, and of course Seattle, as well as esteemed visitors from Lisbon, Portugal.

The 2006 festival will feature showcased performances from these visiting musicians and ensembles. SIMF ’06 will also feature collaborative sets performed by different first-time-ever combinations of these improvisers.
