Some of you may recall that on our old site there was a link to a list of women who make innovative music and sound art. It was kind of clunky and incomplete, and it went away when we moved to this new site.

After many months, we are happy to roll out a new and improved index of women composers and sound artists. Names are arranged alphabetically within multiple categories. All names link directly to the artist’s site or, if they don’t have one, to the most informative secondary site we could find.

We hope this resource makes it easier for listeners to find new artists they will enjoy, and for other presenters and curators to book female artists.

UPDATE! As of December 24, 2015, Many Many Women is in the competent hands of Megan Mitchell, a DJ and electronic music aficionado who has volunteered for us on occasion and is currently studying for her MLS with a specialty in audio archiving. We are confident that the site will continue to evolve and thrive under her guidance.
